PHOENIX WINE CLUB AT THE GRAPE HARVEST

The Phoenix wine Club team was in Nuits Saint Georges for the first day of the grape harvest at the Chevillon Chezeau domaine. With radiant sunshine we went to the vineyard of Nuits Saint George 1er Cru Le Porets where Claire directed the ballet of harvesters as they advanced through the rows of vines. Within just two hours, the first crates of grapes were on their way to the winery where her husband Philippe was in charge of operations. Michel Chevillon, Claire’s father, confided in us: “This is my 54^th grape harvest, and I can tell you I have rarely seen such beautiful grapes”. So it is confirmed: 2015 is going to be a great vintage in Burgundy!
